Reiki is the Japanese form of Hands on healing that deals with the chi (energy) and chakras and helps the body realign and self heal.  It’s not the healer that gives the healing it is the healer who channels the universal energy.  Reiki is available to all and can be channeled by anyone who wants to be attuned.

What Dose Reiki Mean ?

The word Reiki is pronounced 'RAY KEY', which means the Universal Life –Force Energy or God-directed life Force Energy.

Where did it come from?

Reiki or Healing Systems have been around since time began but it was at the beginning of the 1900s that a Japanese gentleman called Dr Usui rediscovered the Reiki system.

The Story of Dr Usui is that he was a missionary in Japan and was asked by a student to explain why Jesus was able to heal by hand and why there was no one today that was able to do so.  This puzzled Dr Usui and he began his quest to search out the answer.  Eventually this brought him to Mt. Kurama where under the guidance of the local Buddhist Monks he embarked on a 21 day meditation high on the face of Mt Kurama.  Dr Usui had research the many different accounts of healer, both through history and Sanskrit scrolls but was not able to understand how to use the information that he had learnt.  For 21 days he meditated on the fact and on the last day he reached enlightenment, where he was given the symbols for healing and their meanings.

On the way down the mountain he injured himself and with his new knowledge and system was able to heal himself.  On reaching the bottom he had a large meal which under normal circumstances would have made him ill after a 21 day fast but he was fine.  After his meal he then met with the daughter of the inn keeper who was suffering with toothache and again through his system and new found knowledge was able to free her from pain. 

By 1922 Dr Usui had developed his teaching techniques and began to attune people to use the system to help heal.

  Treatments and Courses

Treatments cost £20 per session and can last for up to two hours with two Reiki Healers per session.  Treatments can be held in your own home or from the Healers site depending on your preference.

Reiki Parties and displays are also available for a minimum of 4 clients, but you will need to book in advance.  We are also able to arrange for other healing treatments such as Hopi, Massage, Indian head etc…

Reiki shares are available and coffee mornings for those who want to get together with like minded people.  These are on the last Sunday in every month and a minimum fee of £3.00 is charged for refreshment only.
